Novice women’s first boat by their LBC, Elaina
Queens’ novice women’s first boat placed 4th in their heats with an average erg time of 1.55.5 for 500m, and went through to compete in the finals later that evening. Despite aching muscles from having done it once already they stepped up their game for the final, achieving a split of 1.54.7 and gaining joint 5th place overall in the NW1 category.

Although we (NW2) missed out on qualifying for the final, every single rower gave it their all, ending up with some impressive individual splits. Team spirit was certainly not lacking, demonstrated by the green war-paint on all 10 of our faces, and the support the girls gave to each other was superb!
