Queens' Ergs

QErgs 2025 is being held on Sunday the 2nd of November 2025!

QCBC arranges one of the largest indoor rowing competitions in the UK! QErgs takes place in Michaelmas every year, and is a relay race for novice, senior, and new for 2025 - town rowers as well! Nearly a thousand college rowers take part each year! The competition takes place in Queens’ College Fitzpatrick Hall at the beginning of November. We’re grateful to Feather and Square for sponsoring this years event.

Information

The Competition will be held on Sunday 2nd November 2025 provisionally from 9am to 6pm - draw dependent. Entries have opened and will close on Monday 27th October. Rules for the 2025 competition can be found here. Unlike in previous years, forms containing crew lists and wavers will be signed on the day.

There are four entry categories: Novice Men, Novice Women, Mixed Senior and Mixed Town.

T-Shirts

Queens’ Ergs T-shirts are given to all competitors and are worn during the event. Sizes can be chosen by LBCs/Crew Members when collecting T-Shirts prior to the competition. T-Shirts can be collected on Friday 31st October between 1pm and 6pm from Queens’ College. Note that this is a change from the normal location at the QCBC Boathouse - and please follow signage upon entry to college via Queens’ Plodge.

Entry price includes t-shirts for the eight rowers. Extra shirts can be bought for £5 for coxes/LBCs/coaches. Please contact us if you would like to purchase additional T-Shirts.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to the fastest crews in the finals held at the end of the day.

Payment

The Price for the entry of one crew is £85

Payment can be made by bank transfer or cheque. Please make bank transfers to the QCBC account with your college/club, and QERGS in the description (eg. DowningQERGS). The account sort code is 40-16-08 and the account number is 94088255. Cheques should be made payable to “Queens’ College Boat Club” and sent to Nicholas Marsh at Queens’ College , or placed in Nicholas’s pigeon hole in the Queens’ porters’ lodge. If you cannot pay by bank transfer or cheque please get in touch by emailing us to discuss other options.
